Request Access

In order to gain access to MU Connect, full-time and student staff will need to submit a security request. Roles and access to student data are assigned on the basis of educational need-to-know. Once a security request form is processed by myZou and shared with the MU Connect team, roles will be assigned to the individual to access MU Connect and student data.

Staff Security Request

  1. If they do not have a FERPA score on file they will need to take the FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) Quiz.
    • https://canvas.umsystem.edu/ – The FERPA quiz is listed as a course. 
    • 80% is passing
    • After an individual has completed the training with a passing FERPA score, the quiz will be closed to re-entering.
    • If an individual has taken the FERPA training and passed the FERPA quiz in the past, they will not be able to log into the training  now.  (If there is a question regarding being able to log into the FERPA training please send an email to myZou@missouri.edu for assistance.)

  2. Fill out a Security Request Form
    • Located on the Registrar’s website: https://registrar.missouri.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/security-request-form.pdf.
    • Print the form and then fill it out
    • Please indicate in the description box and provide details that respond to the following questions:
      • What is the function of the person requesting access? I.e.: Academic Advisor
      • What student populations should they have access too? Is there a certain cohort or population? All students?
      • Are they a calendar manager for anyone?
      • Should anyone be a calendar manager for them?
      • Do they need access to a kiosk waiting room?
      • Do they need to be accessible for student scheduling? If so, what service membership should they be added too? 
    • Get the signatures needed to sign off on the access requested – Your signature, Dept. Chair/Head, Assoc/Asst Dean or Dean
  3. Scan completed form(s) into an email and send to myZou@missouri.edu
    • Please, do not send forms to our office. All forms are processed centrally by SIS.

**If you have users to remove from the system, services, and/or kiosks please send names and ID numbers to the MU Connect team at muconnectsupport@missouri.edu and copy myZou@missouri.edu.

Undergraduate Student Security Request

  2. Students must have an active HR appointment before receiving access.
  3. Students will also need to submit a Confidentiality Form: https://registrar.missouri.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/student-employment-confidentiality.pdf.
  4. Scan completed form into an email and send to myZou@missouri.edu
    • Please, do not send forms to our office. All forms are processed centrally by SIS.
    • The student’s supervisor will need to be the one to send these requests to myZou@missouri.edu.

*Average turnaround time for completed (Human Resource paperwork, confidentiality agreements, etc.) requests is 3-5 business days. During the start of the semester due to the high volume of requests, response time may take longer. If you have questions about your request please contact myZou@missouri.edu
